Exodus 34:9 (ESV) And he [Moses] said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, please let the Lord go in the midst of us, for it is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”
This week we look into the name Adonai and continue traveling around with Moses. If you look into the previous chapter (Exodus 33), you'll see there is reason to be very afraid yet after 33:11 the feel becomes more tender. Oh, I admire Moses' bravery! Why do you think Moses shifts from Yahweh to Adonai in 34:9? Hmmm, something to ponder while we wander.
