Frequently Asked Questions

When does WBS start?

We offer two semesters each year which range from 6 to 12 weeks depending on the curriculum.  Although the start dates may vary, Fall Semester ends before Thanksgiving and Spring Semester ends before Easter.  Please contact us to get on the mailing list for future studies in advance.

Who can join?

FBC Women's Bible Study is geared toward any woman interested in learning more about God and connecting with other women.  You do not have to be a member to join.

Do you meet online or in person?

Although we hosted an online Bible study in 2020, in-person meetings have resumed and we no longer meet online.

Where and when does WBS meet?

We offer two groups:
6:30-8pm Wednesdays and 9:30-11am Thursdays.  Both groups meet in the Fireside Room, upstairs in the main church building.  Parking Lot is on the corner of 5th & Lincoln.  Please arrive on time.

Can I bring my kids with me?

As a mom, you deserve time for yourself to focus on participating without distractions.  Childcare is available in a couple ways.  FBC offers THRIVE children's program and Jr High Youth group on Wednesday nights.  For Thursday morning meetings, childcare can be arranged in advance.  We welcome nursing moms of infants and make exceptions as needed.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely!  We love having new women sign up.   If it is in the middle of a semester, please let your leader know so we can be prepared with any materials.

Is there a class fee?

Yes, there is a fee to cover curriculum and related costs.  The fee ranges around $20-$25 depending on the publisher. We offer free scholarships to anyone who desires to join in but would like financial assistance.  Donations are also welcome to help us continue offering scholarships.

What if I cannot make it to all the meetings?

We welcome your attendance and participation as often as you are able.  We completely understand that doctor appointments and other needs arise unexpectedly.  You may follow along the curriculum on your own when you are absent.

What books do you use?

For a sampling of study guides we have used in the past, check out our Past Studies page.

What happens between semesters?

During our breaks, our women often participate in other FBC groups and events.  Check out www.fbcwatsonville.com or the FBC facebook page for opportunities.
