This is the same word used in verse 8, when Isaac asks his dad, "where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” Abraham said, “God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.”
It is amazing to me, that anyone would have such great a faith in God as Abraham did at this moment. In the New Testament, it is credited to Abraham this unwavering faith: "By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back." (Hebrews 11:17-19)
I do like the nuance from reading the meanings behind the word "ra'a." To me, the translation "to provide" is like a shortcut. It is direct and to the point but I also like the translation "the Lord will see to it." This is like the scenic route. The Lord sees and gives attention to our needs. It speaks of His watchful eye knowing our needs such that He will take care of it all. He will provide. And ultimately, God provided His own Son Jesus, the perfect and spotless Lamb to meet our greatest need of all.
