In this chapter, the paintings of author Ann Chou Simons contain Scriptures and words from my favorite hymn, "Great Is Thy Faithfulness". Have you spent time to ponder (behold) the faithfulness of God? I have, which is the reason that hymn is my favorite. Day by day, season by season, year after year, generation after generation, God is faithful. "To behold the steadfast faithfulness of God day by day is to witness His unchanging nature" (page 26). Early during the pandemic shut down, some of us became bored being home day after day. The ordinary day seemed so mundane. Now that many are back to work and facing a "new ordinary" -- a much harder and tiring ordinary day -- how can we be glad in a day no matter what kind of day it is? "Gladness is the overflow of a heart that recognizes that our cries and victories are not overlooked by a Holy God -- neither is our groaning in the toils of every day... This day is holy because He makes nothing without purpose and plan -- in this we can truly rejoice" (page 34). What are things that help you to rejoice in today?
